Als ehemalige Schülerin von Lee Strasberg (New York) basiert ihre
Arbeit hauptsächlich auf dem Prinzip des »Method« Actings. Aber auch
Techniken, Ansichten und Ideen von Stella Adler, Uta Hagen,
Sanford Meisner, Eleonora Duse und Peter Brook haben einen starken
Einfluss auf Micthell’s Training. Da sie davon überzeugt ist, dass
Talent nicht eingesperrt und zurechtgewiesen werden möchte, unterrichtetet sie nicht
nach festgelegten Regeln sondern arbeitet mit jedem Schüler individuell. Shelley
Mitchell ermutigt Schauspieler, eine klare Vision dessen zu formulieren, was sie als
Künstler zu sagen haben.

Shelley Mitchell Cominció la sua formazione a New York presso The Circle in the Square Theater School ed in seguito studió per 4 anni con Lee Strasberg, direttore del famoso Actors Studio.
I suoi anni di studio nell'ambiente teatrale di New York negli anni '70 hanno dato a Shelley l'opportunita di lavorare ed essere influenzata da importanti attori quali Sean Penn, Ellen Burstyn, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel e Irene Papas, Rita Moreno.Dirige l'Actors Center di San Francisco.
Shelley Mitchell ha tenuto una giornata di workshop in occasione del Golden Graal 2008 a Roma il 7 giugno scorso alla presenza di registi, casting directors , actor coach italiani ,riscuotendo un grande successo.

- rilassamento attivo
- rimozione blocchi emotivi

E dal 1986 Shelley Mitchell tiene corsi in Italia settentrionale.
